Ugur Caki, an emerging contemporary artist, was born in Izmir, Turkey. During his education at Dokuz Eylul University, he participated in several group exhibitions, including helping to organise the Izmir International Ceramics Symposium.

His art developed and began to reach maturity after he founded his first studio in Urla, Zeytinalan, where he started working on the techniques of bronze moulding. He then further refined his technique and perhaps the most distinctive feature of his works is his contemporary interpretation of classical deities, which later became the panache of his signature style.

Despite his artistic talent, it is Caki’s postmodernist and humorous outlook that defines much of his art, as evident in his sculptures of classical Greek deities. It is his unconscious yet witty artistic rendition that remains at the heart of his creative image. This, together with his uncompromisingly relentless pursuit of artistic virtuosity, has made him one of the most dynamic artists in Turkey.

He was presented for the first time in London by Lahd Gallery in An Istanbul Legacy together with Turkish artists Guido Casaretto and Bedri Baykam. His works of art can be found in many collections including Izmir Devlet Resim and Heykel Muze.
